The team at Basingstoke-based employee benefits provider, Unum, have completed their Cotswold Way Challenge and hosted their annual summer party for Naomi House & Jacksplace. To date, Team Unum has raised over £30,000 for our hospices.
We have been Unum’s local charity partner since 2022 and they have supported us in many different ways. Recently, the team took on the challenge of hiking up to 100km across the beautiful Cotswolds countryside. And, if that wasn’t tough enough, the team took part on one of the hottest days of the year.
Jamie Redford, Key Account Coordinator at Unum, who tackled 53km, said this about the hike:
What more can I say about this event?! The weather was on our side (despite perhaps being a tad warm!), it was superbly organised, there was a great team spirit with lots of laughs and mixed emotions along the way. And it was all for a great cause. Well done to everyone that took part, especially the few that did the 100km overnight. I look forward to doing something similar again next year with Team Unum.
Ali Omar, Sales Executive at Unum, also said:
There was a stunning atmosphere with stunning views throughout. This was the hardest challenge mentally and physically I have ever experienced, but I wouldn't have changed a second. We’re really pleased we were able to raise money for this wonderful charity.
Unum also recently hosted their annual summer party, where some proceeds from ticket sales were donated to Naomi House & Jacksplace. The team were able to let their hair down, enjoy some great food and drinks, and have a boogie! They also hosted a charity raffle to raise extra funds for our hospices.
We spoke with Jodie Rowe, one of the Charity Champions at Unum about the summer party:
Our annual summer party is my favourite event of the year. It’s always so great to see our employees come together for such a good cause. This year was our biggest turnout yet and we really couldn’t do it without everyone’s support.
Connor Phillips, Fundraising Officer at Naomi House & Jacksplace, said:
Thank you so much to everyone from Unum for your incredible support. £30,000 could fund 1,300 hours of vital nursing care at Naomi House & Jacksplace, which is amazing, so thank you for making such a huge difference to the families in our care.
