On Sunday, over 500 people fastened their walking boots and took on the Clarendon Way Walk, a beautiful 26 mile countryside walk, between Salisbury Cathedral and Winchester Cathedral to raise money for our hospices. Over an incredible £70,000 has currently been raised with more expected to come in.
Since the pandemic, we have seen a rise in participant numbers, but this year’s event exceeded all of our expectations and is the biggest year of registrations.
Completing it is one of my greatest achievements as many times we doubted if we'd finish it
It was so well organised! All volunteers were very friendly, the information about route was super clear, great selection of snacks and drinks! Also in the end I loved that there was a band playing. And of cause the weather made my day too
Inline with our mission, we are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our events. This year we re-used existing stock of events t-shirt. This not only provided a glorious sea of colour on the day but reduced our waste. We also introduced water bottle re-fill stations this year instead of plastic bottles.
Feedback from participants has been wonderful, I would like to say a tremendous thank you to all of those that supported the event by either walking or volunteering for this event, we couldn't have done it without you! Using past stock of the event t-shirts gave a splash of colour to the day and we are proud to be working towards a more sustainable event and reducing our impact on the environment.
Sponsorship from the Clarendon Way Walk allows us to continue support to families across central south England whose children have incredibly complex medical needs.
This years’ event was made possible by the generous support from local businesses, volunteers and Winchester’s Army Training Regiment. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible!
The people involved were supportive and encouraging, the variety of snacks at each pit stop were well thought out and much appreciated. The route was well marked and the welcome at the finish was truly overwhelming - just a wonderful day!
This was my first year doing anything like this and as hard as it was, it was such a fun and a well organised event.
Don't miss out on your chance to part of this amazing event and make every step count.
