A group of Event Management students from the University of Winchester recently hosted a fun noughties-themed quiz night to raise funds for Naomi House & Jacksplace. The night, organised as a part of their course, was supported by our Fundraising Officer who helped the students throughout their event planning process. The sold-out evening raised a fantastic £328 to fund vital nursing care at our hospices.
The 3rd year Event Management students aimed to raise awareness for Naomi House & Jacksplace within the 18 to 25 age demographic. To cater to their audience, they decided on a fun noughties quiz paired with decorations and music. During the nostalgic evening, attendants were transported back to the 2000s with music and questions from that decade.
Kate Browning, student from University of Winchester, said:
It was a wonderful way to strengthen the connection between Naomi House & Jacksplace and our community, leaving our attendees with a deeper understanding of the charity’s services and how they can support them in the future.
Emma Hancock, Fundraising Officer at Naomi House & Jacksplace, said:
It was a pleasure supporting Issy, Kate, Cat, Ky throughout their planning process. They were always willing to take on my advice or suggestions in the lead up to their quiz night and they pulled off a fantastic evening for all attendees. We are always looking to engage the 18 to 25-year-old demographic, and the research that the girls carried out as part of their university assessment will aid our approach in how we advertise our future events. A big thank you to the group and the University of Winchester Business School for wishing to support us.
