Barry Nicholas, a Senior Captain at the New Forest Golf Club, chose to support Naomi House & Jacksplace during the course of his captaincy. Despite the challenges of fundraising during a difficult post-Covid year, Barry was determined to raise as much money for the hospices as he could.
For Barry, there was no decision to be made when selecting his charity, it was always going to be Naomi House & Jacksplace. The hospices were there to support his granddaughter Bethany, when she sadly passed away in 2019.
Because of what Naomi House did for Claire Adam and Bethany throughout her time with us and for other young people like her there could only be one choice for me to raise some funds for you and your team of dedicated people - Thank you all at Naomi House & Jacksplace.”
Barry is a well-established member and friend of New Forest Golf Club, having been a part of the club since 1985, but this was his first captaincy and he did a fantastic job of it. Barry secured donations from various sources and auctioned them off across special golfing and fundraising days. Because of his tireless commitment to fundraising, Barry smashed his target of raising £2,000 and instead raised an incredible £3,050.49!
Everyone was incredibly generous and knew what an important charity Naomi House & Jacksplace is, and the difference it makes to families like Barry’s.
Thank you for your support, Barry!
