Naomi House & Jacksplace support the work Together for Short Lives are delivering in calling on the government to protect and extend the Children’s Hospice Grant.
Typically, we receive around 10% of funding from statutory sources and it is vital that access to these funds isn't lost or diminished.
During Children’s Hospice Week, Together for Short Lives and the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Children Who Need Palliative Care will be holding an all-day drop-in session for MPs and peers at Westminster during Children’s Hospice Week on Tuesday 20 June. The event will take place from 10am in Room M of Portcullis House.
Hospices for children and young adults provide essential care to life-limited and life-threatened children and their families. They also facilitate quicker discharges from hospital and help families to care for their child at home thereby reducing emergency admissions and freeing up hospital beds.
We are committed to helping families by providing high quality, compassionate care and support. Our care team can only make that possible because of the generous support from our local community and the funding we receive from the government.
Mark Smith, CEO of Naomi House & Jacksplace, says:
“Every day the team at Naomi House & Jacksplace work to deliver expert care for families who use our hospice services. I see children and young adults going through the hardest and most unimaginable experiences. I see demand for our services increase at a time where it’s becoming ever more expensive to deliver services, because of rising costs and the cost-of-living crisis.
We are committed to helping families by providing high quality, compassionate care and support. Our care team can only make that possible because of the generous support from our local community and the funding we receive from the government.
The Children’s Hospice Grant really matters. With Together for Short Lives, we’re asking for the government to protect and extend the Children’s Hospice Grant.”
