Lifelong friends cycle 874 miles and raise over £5,000

Cyclists at the finish line

Hailing from Southampton, lifelong friends Dan Piernicki and Paul Bowers (aka the JOGLE Brothers) took on a mammoth cycling challenge to raise vital funds for Naomi House & Jacksplace.

We’d probably bitten off more than we could chew with this challenge but it’s for a great cause. The thought of any amount of help that can be provided with the money raised is what gets us by each mile.

— Paul Bowers

Throughout July, Dan and Paul cycled the equivalent distance from John O’Groats to Land’s End visiting each of our  21 charity shops across Wessex.

Dan and Paul completed their 874 mile cycling the challenge on Sunday 1st August, crossing the finish line at the hospices in Sutton Scotney, near Winchester. Together they smashed their target and raised over £5,000 for Naomi House & Jacksplace.

This has been the most rewarding and punishing challenge. It’s been amazing to meet so many wonderful volunteers and staff. I’m just glad we could raise some
money to help them.
