Go FORTH and Run for Respite
In March, we delivered Run 4 Respite, a fundraising event that smashed all expectations. It was made possible by the event’s supporters, FORTH – formerly Royston Group.
Our team has really taken Naomi House & Jacksplace to their heart. Working with the charity as the main sponsor for Run 4 Respite even in challenging COVID circumstances was immensely enjoyable and we can’t wait to beat our fundraising at next year’s event.”
Our events team knew that they had to create an event that supporters could participate in during any stage of a national lockdown. The solution was ‘Run 4 Respite’, an epic distance challenge where supporters were tasked with covering 105 miles in one month and raising £105!
FORTH, a Romsey based building services business, have been supporters of Naomi House & Jacksplace for nearly a year with smaller fundraising.
Jason, Account Director at FORTH, has previously raised funds for Naomi House & Jacksplace so was familiar with the work the charity did. Jason and his colleagues took part in our virtual Santa Fun Run in December and when the opportunity to be the main sponsor became available for Run 4 Respite they jumped at the chance.
Naomi House & Jacksplace was also known to the business as they care for our building services needs and work closely with our maintenance team. These connections gave FORTH an insight into the fantastic and invaluable work being done here at Sutton Scotney. Nearly a quarter of their staff took part in the challenge.
The team at FORTH are a fitness-focused team, but not everyone is at marathon level so it was great that they had people walking, jogging, and running across the challenge. So many of the team were able to get involved and raise valuable funds for our hospices.
It’s been an absolute pleasure working with the team at FORTH, their enthusiasm and team morale have been extraordinary. Run 4 Respite has raised over £37,000, this an amazing achievement for the first year, we couldn’t have reached this total without their support. We are very excited that our relationship with FORTH is growing, we are very much looking forward to next year’s event.
