Busy Bee Christmas grottos raise over £137k for Naomi House & Jacksplace
Busy Bee Garden Centre, based in Ryde on the Isle of Wight, have raised a phenomenal £137,000 for our hospices from their Christmas Grottos since 2002.
Each year, Busy Bee Garden Centre hold an incredibly festive Christmas Grotto in aid of Naomi House & Jacksplace. The team create a magical winter wonderland throughout the store, then as you enter the grotto, an elf greets you and takes you into Santa’s living room to meet the big man himself!
Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, the garden centre wasn’t able to host the grotto in 2020, but this didn’t stop them raising some much needed funds for our charity. Through placing collection pots throughout the store, they pulled together with their local community to raise a fantastic £1,500 last December.
Thank you to our local community for your generosity in these awful times. We’re sad that we couldn’t have the Grotto due to Covid-19 and all of the restrictions, but hopefully everything will be back to normal in 2021 and we can continue with the Grotto and fundraising for Naomi House & Jacksplace.
When I saw Busy Bee Garden Centre were unable to run their Christmas Grotto, I didn’t expect to receive a donation from them this year. For them to have raised £1,500 was a brilliant surprise and incredible achievement! Thank you so much to the whole team for your amazing support over the years and in these unprecedented times, we are all truly grateful for your generosity.
Busy Bee Garden Centre have been supporting our charity with the proceeds from their magical grotto since 2002, regularly raising up to £10k per year for our hospices!
A night of respite at the hospices costs £1,568, so through Busy Bee Garden Centre’s incredible support and generosity over the years, they have raised enough to cover 89 nights of respite for local life limited and life threatened children, young adults and families.
