The Celebration of Speed is a black tie event for 300 guests to celebrate motor racing, and is in recognition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, a highlight of the sporting calendar. In the first two years, the Celebration of Speed attracted leading figures from the sport including Kenny Brack and James Toseland, as well as iconic cars and bikes. The event usually raises money for a chosen charity via silent auctions, fundraising games and a raffle. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, the event had to be cancelled this year, but the organisers, The Turnbull Group, decided to take the silent auction online to raise money for Naomi House & Jacksplace and Mesothelioma UK.
The silent auction features a variety of high value, exclusive prizes, including once-in-a-lifetime experiences, from a very rare signed poster from the 1974 Brands Hatch 1000km race and a signed Tyson Fury boxing glove, to a VIP experience at the Monaco Grand Prix 2021 and a 3 night stay for 2 at a 5* Golf Course in Portugal. We want to thank the Turnbull Group for continuing to support Naomi House & Jacksplace even after the black tie event was unfortunately cancelled. Sports fans should definitely check out the online auction to see if there is anything they’d be interested in bidding on to support their local children’s hospice - there are also many extraordinary prizes for non sports fans too, from dance lessons to dining experiences to make up experiences!
