This November, a group of permanent staff and LT COL Jim Phipps of Winchester Army Training Regiment took part in an epic running challenge to fundraise for Naomi House & Jacksplace. Their run took place during one of coldest weekends of the year and raised an incredible £3,000 for our hospices.
The team of 25 runners ran in relays across 24 hours, with each member running for one hour before handing the baton to the next runner. The challenge was made even tougher by the freezing temperatures during the day. Everyone's efforts were rewarded when the challenge exceeded expectations and raised an amazing £3,000 to support life limited and life threatened children and young adults.
Winchester ATR has been supporting Naomi House & Jacksplace in numerous ways since 2008, most notably providing invaluable support to our Events Team. Thank you for your ongoing and dedicated support.

As trained soldiers we get to enjoy a healthy life and do things such as endurance events, but there are those that are not healthy due to illnesses. It was the intention for us as trained soldiers to endure some level of hardship in order to raise money. Many of the permanent staff at the ATR, and myself, also have children and we can understand the hardships families have to endure.
Charlotte Patrick, Events Leader at Naomi House & Jacksplace, said:
Since 2008, the Army Training Regiment has provided us with priceless support across a wide range of activities. This support included marshaling at our flagship events, managing event logistics, and volunteering their time at our hospices and warehouse. This 24-hour challenge was a superb effort from all at Burma Company. Thank you to Sgt Corbett for leading on this monumental challenge.
Consider leaving us a donation. Your generosity means that we can continue to deliver outstanding care for over 500 families who visit Naomi House & Jacksplace. Thank you.
