2000km trek for charity

Portsmouth based company, GRP Solutions recently took on an incredible challenge in aid of Naomi House & Jacksplace; collectively walking over 2,000km in one day, raising over £23,000 for our hospices!

On one of the hottest days of the year, a team of 45, including employees from GRP Solutions and some of their clients and suppliers, walked the Thames Valley Path, from Bishops Park in London to Runnymede in Berkshire.

Everybody trained hard, but nothing could prepare them for taking on the trek on the hottest day of the year. But, with determination and resilience, every team member completed the challenge, some walking for over 12 hours and finishing in the dark.

Martyn Butcher, Senior Relationship Manager at Natwest, joined the trek. He said:

I was very proud to join my client, the fantastic GRP Solutions team from Portsmouth, on this epic challenge. Hiking 33 degrees was a brutal experience, both mentally and physically, but one that I would repeat to raise further funds for the amazing Naomi House & Jacksplace. I’d like to thank my friends, fellow professionals, and colleagues for their generous support, raising £4,500 towards this worthy cause – you have simply blown me away with your generosity.

We are so honoured to have the support of GRP Solutions who all selflessly achieved something remarkable to help us be there for local children, young adults and families. GRP Solutions have supported us for seven years now and regularly taken on team challenges to raise vital funds and awareness of our charity. It’s a partnership to be proud of and I can’t wait to see what 2024 brings.
